About the Association
The Common Ground Alliance (CGA) is a member-driven association of nearly 4,000 damage prevention professionals committed to protecting North America’s underground utility infrastructure. Since its founding in 2000, CGA has served as the industry’s preeminent resource for data, education, and shared responsibility practices aimed at reducing utility damages. CGA’s mission is to save lives and prevent damage through collaborative safety standards, effective communication, and promotion of national initiatives like the “Call Before You Dig” 811 program.
