Learning Alliance Launches Talent Link for Fiber Optic Professionals

For Immediate Release 12/4/23 – Learning Alliance Newsroom

Learning Alliance Corporation (LAC) proudly announces the launch of Talent Link, an innovative applicant tracking system designed to connect employers with highly skilled graduates from the Fiber Broadband Association’s OpTIC Path™ program. This state-of-the-art platform enables direct access to certified fiber technicians, streamlining the hiring process for broadband network deployments.

Revolutionizing Telecom Workforce Development

Learning Alliance, committed to enhancing telecom workforce development, has been instrumental in increasing the availability of skilled fiber technicians. By partnering with the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA), LAC has facilitated the OpTIC Path program, significantly expanding training opportunities for both veterans and civilians. This collaboration has led to the development of a robust pipeline of trained fiber field workers, ensuring timely completion of essential fiber projects.

Talent Link: A Gateway to Qualified Talent

Talent Link serves as a comprehensive database of all LAC program graduates, including those from FBA’s OpTIC Path course and other tower and wireless programs. Employers can now effortlessly filter candidates based on program completion, work experience, interests, and location, among other criteria. FBA member companies also benefit from direct access to Talent Link through their FBA membership portal.

“Placement is always a pivotal challenge in any industry, but it is especially pronounced in telecom today. Talent Link, in conjunction with our partners and FBA members, offers a beacon of hope for organizations searching for the right talent,” said Fred Arnold, Director of Operations at the Learning Alliance. “Employers using Talent Link can be confident that all candidates have completed a rigorous training program and are prepared to accomplish hands-on tasks on Day One.”

Enhancing OpTIC Path Program Reach

Deborah Kish, Vice President of Research and Workforce Development at the Fiber Broadband Association, highlights the enhancement of the OpTIC Path program through this partnership. The Talent Link platform not only benefits OpTIC Path graduates but also offers immense value to FBA members, simplifying the process of finding qualified technicians needed for fiber deployments.

Since the OpTIC Path program’s inception, Learning Alliance has achieved significant milestones, including a 40% increase in class size, the addition of eight dedicated OpTIC Path instructors, and successful placement of 92% of its graduates in telecom positions with competitive starting salaries.

Connecting Communities Through Skilled Technicians

Learning Alliance and the Fiber Broadband Association are committed to building a connected future by training and placing skilled fiber technicians in critical roles. Talent Link plays a pivotal role in achieving this goal, ensuring communities can access the unparalleled benefits of fiber broadband.
